Mission:
As the DevOps Team Lead, your mission is to lead a high-performing DevOps team in modernizing and optimizing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalable and secure systems that support our evolving business needs. You will guide team members, champion best practices, and foster a collaborative environment that prioritizes continuous improvement, stability, and efficient software delivery. Your leadership will be instrumental in building a robust infrastructure that aligns with our company's growth and technological innovation.
What you will do as our DevOps Team Lead
Technical Leadership & Strategy
Drive the planning, execution, and delivery of DevOps projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and team goals.
Champion the transition to a Platform Engineering mindset, positioning the team as providers of robust tooling, guardrails, and domain expertise.
Oversee the development and maintenance of scalable, resilient infrastructure to support software development and deployment.
Develop and maintain efficient CI/CD pipelines, implementing automation strategies to streamline processes, reduce errors, and ensure reliable software delivery.
Continuously monitor system performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement strategies to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
Uphold security best practices and compliance standards, including regular audits and necessary security measures to protect infrastructure integrity.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Dev, QA, and Product teams to foster a cohesive development and deployment process, ensuring seamless integrations and smooth project delivery.
Lead incident management efforts, troubleshooting and resolving production issues, conducting post-mortems, and implementing improvements to avoid recurrence.
Team Management & Development
Conduct regular one-on-ones and performance reviews, supporting team members in expanding their DevOps skills and knowledge.
Balance workloads across projects to ensure team efficiency and project success, while promoting a collaborative and open team culture.
Lead the team through technological changes and system upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption and effective adoption.
Establish and monitor key performance metrics, providing regular updates on team performance and project progress.
What you'll need to succeed:
Experience: 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or a similar technical role, with experience in cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and large-scale environments.
Technical Skills:
Extensive experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as cloud platforms like AWS.
Proficiency in CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., GitLab CI) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks like Terraform and CloudFormation.
Expertise in automation and scripting, along with strong knowledge of configuration management tools.
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including protocols, firewalls, and routing.
Familiarity with incident management tools like PagerDuty and Opsgenie for managing on-call schedules and handling escalations.
Strong diagnostic skills for troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure and application issues efficiently.
Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, Sentry, and OpenTelemetry, including creating dashboards and implementing effective alerting strategies.
Leadership Skills: Proven experience leading teams, with a focus on mentorship, team culture, and cross-functional collaboration.
Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues, with a proactive approach to identifying improvement opportunities.
Communication: Strong interpersonal and documentation skills, able to convey technical concepts to various stakeholders.
