Location: This role could be based in either our Wythall, London, Telford or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

Salary and benefits: £100,000 - £150,000 salary depending on experience plus 30% bonus up to 60%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more

We have an incredible opportunity to join Phoenix Group  as Head of Modelling Systems in our Regulatory Capital team

The role

This role will lead the systems development for the Regulatory Capital Management team, focussing on working with the rest of the Regulatory Capital team to develop a market leading internal capital model. This role is pivotal in ensuring the firm has access the tools and systems it needs to make informed risk decisions and offers an opportunity, to the right candidate, to build industry leading tools for the UK’s largest long-term savings and retirement business.

What are we looking for?

This role will suit somebody with both a strong Actuarial and strong IT background. Somebody who has both a strong understanding of Internal Models and also systems development. It is important that the candidate understands the importance of controlled development and release practices, is comfortable with coding, and also able to lead a small team of like-minded and elite individuals.

Strong coding background is important, ideally n Python, but R, C++ or Matlab would also be useful.

While an actuarial qualification is preferred, demonstration of understanding actuarial and statistical topics would also be acceptable.
